Meet Dr. Frank C. Greider
Your Smile. It's truly the first thing people notice when they meet you and part of the overall first impression you convey to them. It tells others how you take care of yourself, a sense of how healthy you are and how old you look. When you smile, you should look your very best! I'm certain that you have noticed the increasing number of people who are enhancing their smile with the help of the many technological advances in cosmetic dentistry.
Generally there are two areas of cosmetic dentistry: "The Smile Makeover" and "Full or Partial Mouth Reconstruction". Both areas begin with a careful overall professional analysis of your specific needs and expectations. Our goal, as dental professionals is to not only improve the appearance of your teeth but to optimize their function if needed in the process.
The "Smile Makeover" starts with a professional consultation during which your smile is analyzed and you are assisted in selecting what smile best suits your individual features and personality. Your choices may range from simply bleaching your teeth or replacing dark silver fillings to covering unsightly teeth with dental veneers or crowns. Generally, these procedures are considered elective.
The "Full or Partial Mouth Reconstruction" also starts with a detailed consultation. This area deals with functional problems of the teeth, muscles, bite, and bone structures. Examples of this include missing teeth, excessively worn teeth and broken teeth to name a few. In dentistry this is called the "broken smile" and needs to be repaired for health and functional reasons. However, this is a good opportunity to improve your smile at the same time. This reconstruction involves advanced restorative treatment and frequently requires a dentist specialized in reconstruction called a Prosthodontist to obtain the best overall result.
The reality is, like it or not, people do judge a book by its cover and your smile gives those you meet that very important first impression. It's the best investment you can make in yourself both for your health and for your appearance. After all, it is Your Smile.
